Karma is a theological concept found in the Buddhist and Hindu religions and its categorised within the group or groups of cause in the chain of cause and effect, where it comprises the elements of "volitional activities" ) and "action" . Any action is understood as creating "seeds" in the mind that will sprout into the appropriate result when met with the right conditions. Most types of karmas, with good or bad results, will keep one within the wheel of samsāra(cycle of rebirth), while others will liberate one to nirvāna.(the state of being free from suffering)
Buddhism links karma directly to the motives behind an action. Motivation usually makes the difference between "good" and "bad" actions, but included in the motivation is also the aspect of ignorance such that a well-intended action from an ignorant mind can subsequently be interpreted as a "bad" action in the sense that it creates unpleasant results for the "actor".
In other words, if you kill someone or something, in your next life you'd be killed by that someone or something. In the view of Abrahamic faiths all human dramas as the will of God as opposed to present - and past - life actions.
Let's see what the bible says about actions.. Job 4:8 says, As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it. Psalm 126:5 says, Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. Luke 12:24 says, Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
People in the Old Testament had to slog real hard if they wanted to be delivered by God, but more than 2000 years ago Jesus Christ came to die on the cross so that we do not have to work for Salvation because Jesus worked it out for us already, He died so that we can live eternally with Him. However for the Dharmic faiths, one has to attain many good works or meditation to have salvation.
The devil would definitely know alot about your past and would do anything to disturb you about it right now, however because of Jesus, all our past hurts and failures are all gone and we don't even have to bother about it coming back at us as Karma would. Take for example in the terms of Karma, a person is suffering from poverty now, and this person who believes in Karma, surrenders to his fate thinking that because he stole from the poor in his past life and believes to be paying off his debts right now, in the samsara theory (cycle of rebirth) It is believed that humans have more than one pastlife.. if so, that person might be paying off his "debts" for more than one life? I mean if you owe a bank $20,000 you'd pay back $20,000 but it doesn't work like that for Karma, you do not know how much you owe! However many people still believe in it! (Gal 3:13 "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree) Its because of Jesus Christ that's why we can have salvation and a relationship with God! Thank God for Jesus Christ!
